Well i think it was job well done after the Ensemble ...... coz no matter how much we know of how many mistakes we did ... the people actually loved us ..... the proof is the fact that we are getting offers ... so im not complaining .......... but we do need to find a drummer and bass guitarist FAST...........else the spirit will die down ...........

Oh! Well

Yeah the "gig" got over like 2 weeks back, wasnt quiet what i had expected it to be. But well it was the first show, was good enough for us. Played like 4 songs for the show, moonlight sonata "our way", drift and die, aadat and born to be wild. Did all the blunders you can think of. Appa dropped the drum stick in the very first number, played the sonata real short, the sound guy screwed up my sound big time for the drift and die, gonna kill him if we happen to play somewhere else and if he were to be managing sound and he'd screw it up again. Asked the guy to increase my guitar volume in the middle of the song and the dude increases my mic volume, what a dumb @ss. Aadat, the great roshan, drops the pick, lucky he covered it up with something, saved the embarrassment. Born to be wild, went well all along, until venie screwed the last bit, he was in a hurry to finish off the show i guess. Chintu! no idea what bass he was playing, i hope it was alright, i couldnt hear anything. But anyway, all the mistakes were well covered up, and we put up a decent show, not bad at all for the first time.
Lucky for us, some guys watched out performance, guys who could help us get some more. Were asked to play for a porche cars exhibition and at another club, but our dear drummer left oman today for good! ofcourse better prospects in career is the most important thing right now. So our hunt for a new drummer is ON! Hope to get someone soon. Well Venie can drum as well, so were just wondering if he could go on the drums, and we can fit in a new bassist who can sing, that would be rocking! lets see, gonna be auditioning a bassist tomorrow :-) ill put it up how it goes....
This first performance was a good one, and has given us a lot of confidence, it'll be fun playing the next time for sure. Hoping for the best!....

Well Well!!!

Well Well I sit here at the exchange, its 1330 hrs right now, im bored nothing to do! came here for a "major" problem that had happened at Sohar, freaking thing was solved in 5 mins! now nothing to do!
Life is such a drag here in Oman! People talk about NRI's minting money, having all the fun, living life kingsize and stuff, little do they know how F#$%ed these places are. The growth bar here grows only if u know how to be a lick @ss! This place is so F#$%ing boring.
Enough complaining already!
Lucky for me, I have a good number of friends here! Friends who were friends from school and friends of friends who are now all good friends. Life would have been such a drag here in Oman if not for them!
Lucky for most of the guys they have their families here, but the poor rest!
But anyway, we all look forward to meeting up during weekends, used to play ball, now we do football, go gaming and ofcourse all the food we are all mad about!
Then there the 5 of us, who really look forward to every Sunday and Wednesday to Jamming! (I'd love it if it were every evening). The 5 of us who didnt know that the other could atleast manage an instrument are now together as CRIMSON DRIFT!
I remember sometime last year, i had been to venie's place and i saw a guitar there, asked him whose it was, said it was his, and said about him playing when he was at college and stuff, i told him about my adventures with guitaring as well. Its then when the idea of playing together came to our mind. Appa was always there for drumming, he's been playing since a long time, at school and college, we knew it had to be him. Roshan was very much interested in the same, and took great interest in it and took up guitar classes and bought an electric guitar as well. We still had something missing, when Rohan (roshan's bro) wanted to play with us, he's the superstar of our band! the PRO keyboardist that he is, also fill in the very much essential bass, for any kinda music, without which (let me put it straight through) we sucked!
We had then this ray of hope that we can do something together!
its been over 8 months now that we have been playing together and our list of songs that we can play has grown well, real well. each one of us has improvised very much and are very much confident about pulling off any number with a little practice. Not just that we can do covers, we have like a self composition (well very much venie's) as well. Best thing is that we keep trying different things on different kinda numbers, Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven for example. Who would have thought that a beautiful piano piece would turn out to be a goth metal sounding track! serves Rocking for an intro!
And then now finally, the reward for our hard work, the small little "GIG" that's gonna happen in like 3 days time! Well u could say the first and the last one with all 5 of us together! building our careers in our respective fields is ofcourse our first priority right now, we do music to feed our hunger for the love we have for it.
It's been awesome playing together guys! best thing to happen since a long long time!

Alrite rockers ..!!! Well done so far .... .now we're almost set for our first public performance this comin wekend .... and more over ... it'll be recorded as well... ( finally we'll have good quality video's for ourselves ...hheheh !)
